Shenzhen Customs signs first sister-port cooperation MOU with Chile_我的网站

A |     (ECNS) -- Shenzhen Customs signed its first sister-port cooperation memorandum Thursday with Valparaíso Customs of Chile, under the APEC China Year 2026 framework.    The agreement expands the China-Chile Smart Customs partnership through information sharing and enforcement coordination. Areas of cooperation include mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operator status, clearance efficiency, enterprise credit, anti-smuggling and IP protection.    Pan Chuxiong, deputy director of Shenzhen Customs, said Shenzhen maintains close economic and trade ties with Chile, with three direct shipping routes to major Chilean ports each week. In the first seven months of this year, trade between Shenzhen port and Chile reached 21.96 billion yuan (about $3.06 billion). More than 40% of Chile's cherry imports to China enter through Shenzhen.    "The cooperation with Valparaíso Customs will further enhance cross-border trade facilitation and create new opportunities for bilateral trade in high-quality goods," Pan said.        (By Tang Yuxian)                    。    (ECNS) -- Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, speaking in Chinese, underscored the importance of bilingual education and urged families to create environments where children can enjoy the language.     Wong said more than 1,000 students have benefited from expanded advanced Chinese courses this year, with about one quarter of Secondary 1 students enrolled.        He cited examples of Straits Times reporter Alyssa Woo improving language fluency by immersing herself in Chinese entertainment, from TV dramas such as Pursuit of Jade to songs by Pop icon Jay Chou.    “Watching dramas and listening to songs can really help with learning Chinese,” Wong said, encouraging people to find enjoyable ways to practice the language.    He added that dialects remain a cultural bond, recalling watching the Teochew version of the film Dear You.    Singapore and China’s national libraries will co-host an exhibition on the Four Great Classical Novels later this year.    Wong stressed that Chinese has become a common language among Singapore’s Chinese community and should continue to serve as a bridge to Chinese-speaking communities worldwide.    He stressed that Singapore should continue promoting Chinese as an important part of its multicultural identity and a bridge to Chinese-speaking communities around the world.    (By Helen Mo & intern Liu Shuangjing)                    。
